A runner for more than 25 years, I know the thoughts that show up in the long runs, the early mornings, and the days we had to dig deep. Sole Runner® was born from those thoughts—funny, real, gritty, and unforgettable.

My mission is simple: to remind every runner, walker, and athlete that you are not alone in the miles.

THE SOLE THAT STARTED IT ALL

Every great brand has an origin story. Ours happened on a ferry crossing from Turkey to Greece. They were my favorite running shoes, a brand-name pair that had logged more miles than I can count. Like all great running shoes, they eventually hit their limit. So, I retired them from the roads and gave them a second life as everyday walkers. That summer, they carried me across Europe for six weeks straight.

Then one afternoon, somewhere between Turkey and Greece, I put my foot up on the ferry rail, and a fellow passenger tapped my shoulder. The sole of my shoe had completely separated. Just... let go. Right there on the Aegean Sea.

I laughed. I took a photo. And then I did something nobody expected. I took that worn-out, sole-less shoe, stripped away its logo, and rebuilt it as my own. The Sole Runner® mark you see today was born from that exact moment. From a shoe that gave everything it had and still had more to give.

For 25 years, I collected those thoughts. On long runs, early mornings, and the days I had to dig deep to lace up. They were funny, gritty, and honest, and they deserved to be worn, not just thought about.

That's how Sole Runner® apparel was born. Not in the boardroom. Not from a trend report. But from the real, unfiltered thoughts that happen along every mile.
